Megan Haggerty is the Director of Development for the Northshore Humane Society. Her primary responsibility is to raise funds for the homeless animals of the Southeast region and for the anxiously anticipated construction of the Northshore Humane Society’s future home! Megan is also an elected official, serving the citizens of the City of Slidell as Vice President of the Slidell City Council. Megan is passionate about children’s safety and protecting the quality of life of her constituents, having made significant improvements in less than two years in office. Megan has volunteered for a variety of organizations including the United Way, Bring it Home Northshore, Slidell Pickleball Association, Steel Mimosas, East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity, Hometown Hero, Shop with a Cop, and Shelter to Service.

Whether it is working to give homeless animals a better life or representing her District on Slidell City Council, Megan devotes her time to her community and Parish.

Personally, Megan is married to her high school sweetheart, Sean Haggerty, and has four children- Sean Patrick, Alex, Mia, and Luke. She is a graduate of the University of New Orleans and the University of Tennessee. In her spare time, you will find Megan enjoying her family. She feels incredibly blessed to have not one, but two roles that allow her to make a significant difference in many lives.
