Michelle Biggs, IOM currently serves as Vice President of the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce, which has over 1,100 member businesses parish-wide, representing more than 35,000 regional employees and with nearly 300 engaged volunteers working to achieve its mission of strengthening the business climate in the parish. Michelle leads a staff of seven in the day-to-day management of the organization, which holds the highest 5-star accreditation status from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. She also assists in the development of strategic initiatives for the organization, directs member relations and all public policy activities that affect economic development and regional and parish businesses.

A Louisiana State University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, Michelle has more than 30 years of experience in strategic planning, marketing and community relations. Previously, Michelle served as executive director of alumni relations for Southeastern Louisiana University. She also served the St. Tammany West Chamber as communications and administrative officer from 2010-2017.

In 2015 Michelle graduated from the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Organization Management program, a four-year educational program on nonprofit management, held at the University of Georgia. She is also a 2013 graduate of New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute.

A longtime advocate for the arts, Michelle has served on the Northshore Advisory Board for the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the Advisory Board for the Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts and is past president of the St. Tammany Art Association. She is also the past chair of the Professional Women of St. Tammany’s Scholarship Committee.

She and her husband Ed live in Covington.
