Rachel is a local business owner and artist behind Damsel n Distress and pickin’ queen of her sister company, Eclectic Exchange. You can find her brick-and-mortar in Olde Towne Slidell—2004 First St Ste A

Raised in Olde Towne Slidell, Rachel has a huge passion for the downtown area and has worked with Olde Towne Slidell Main Street, Olde Towne Merchant’s Association, Keep Slidell Beautiful & the City of Slidell to continue to grow and revitalize our downtown through beautification efforts, event planning & marketing, and promotion.

Last year she brought a new fun-filled family event to the downtown area called Earth Fest in the Dell.

Similar to Earth Fest at the Audubon Zoo, she wanted to offer families a local alternative. Earth Fest raised nearly $10k that will be used toward revitalizing Olde Towne Slidell.

This year, she was selected to sit on the court as a Maid for the Annual Slidell St Patricks Day Parade.

Rachel is also the founder and ADMIN of a free local Mom’s forum—Slidell Mommies, that she launched in 2012. This forum was created to connect with other moms locally. As well as offer a central hub to ask parenting questions, vent, get doctor recommendations, etc.

Slidell Mommies now has nearly 14k local mothers and is a huge resource tool for our area.

She enjoys contributing her time and resources to our community and is honored to have been nominated for this award.
