Joyce Donohue is the General Manager and Co-Owner of Home Instead Senior Care, a 20-year-old, family-run business that provides personalized in-home care services to the elderly in St. Tammany Parish. Under her leadership, Home Instead St. Tammany has earned several awards, including the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce’s 2017 Small Business of the Year, and the Times-Picayune TOP Workplaces recognition for 2021, 2022, and 2024! In 2021, Home Instead St. Tammany earned TOP Workplaces “BEST Midsized Business Winner,” which recognizes the highest employee survey results amongst all the New Orleans Metro area winners.
One of the ways that Home Instead gives back to the local community is through their ‘Be A Santa To A Senior’ program, which partners with local nursing homes and Council on Aging St. Tammany to provide Christmas gifts to seniors in need. Home Instead has coordinated more than 20,000 gifts locally to seniors in need since the programs inception.
Joyce is passionate about community service and participates as a member of multiple local professional organizations. Most notably, she currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Council on Aging St. Tammany (COAST). Joyce graduated from Leadership St. Tammany in 2021 and currently serves on the Alumni Board of Directors. Joyce recently completed her 5th build season with East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity’s Women’s Build. She is also an active member of the Mande Milkshakers, a local philanthropic organization that not only brings fun to Mardi Gras parades on the Northshore but also supports various local non-profit organizations. And to kick off the 2024 Mardi Gras season, she just served as the Mandeville King’s Day Parade Queen.
Joyce, her husband Michael, and son Connor live in Madisonville with their two rescue dogs, Thor and Loki. Connor is currently a junior at Saint Paul’s High School in Covington. She and her husband enjoy traveling to watch their son play lacrosse in Maryland and Florida.
