Born in New Orleans and raised in St. Tammany Parish, Sarah Shipman is a dedicated healthcare executive, community leader, and mother whose life and career reflect a deep commitment to service, leadership, and giving back to the community that shaped her. She currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of Covington Trace ER & Hospital in Mandeville, Louisiana, where she played a key role in the development, build-out, and opening of the micro-hospital. Now nearly three years into operation, Sarah continues to lead day-to-day operations with a people-first approach—ensuring high standards of patient care, regulatory excellence, and a culture rooted in accountability, compassion, and teamwork.

While Sarah’s professional accomplishments are significant, her greatest pride is her role as a mother. She is the proud mom of two sons, Zachary (17) and Anthony (14), who inspire her daily involvement in youth development, mentorship, and athletics. Her belief in building strong, values-driven young leaders is reflected in her extensive volunteer service throughout St. Tammany Parish. She currently serves as President of the Mandeville High School PTA, President of the Skippers Touchdown Club (Mandeville High Schools Football program), and serves on the board of Leadership St. Tammany, as well as Louisiana Society for Healthcare Facilities Managers (LASHFM), where she helps cultivate leadership, civic engagement, and meaningful community connections.

Sarah also serves as a board member of GB2 Football Foundation, an organization dedicated to growing the sport of football through skills camps, community service initiatives, and mentorship of the next generation of players. Through this work, she helps create opportunities for young athletes to develop character, confidence, discipline, and leadership—both on and off the field.

Balancing executive leadership, motherhood, and volunteer service, Sarah leads by example—demonstrating that professional excellence and community impact can go hand in hand. Her dedication to empowering others, supporting families, and investing in youth reflects her belief that strong communities are built through service, mentorship, and shared responsibility.

Sarah is also looking ahead to her next chapter as she is engaged to be married in November 2026 to Chad Sutter, continuing to build a life grounded in family, faith, and community.

Through every role she serves—professionally, personally, and philanthropically—Sarah Shipman embodies the spirit of leadership, service, and compassion that defines a Woman of the Year.
